Chłodnik litewski

One of our priorities is to prepare dishes in accordance with the natural cycle of nature, which is why our stores offer you e.g. Lithuanian cold soup. Its base is fresh, crispy chard, accompanied by cucumber, radish and dill.

Customer care

Beets, especially their leaves, are a rich source of iron, potassium and calcium. The vegetable has a positive effect on the circulatory system, and thus has a health-promoting effect in the case of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis or hypertension. The soup is whitened with buttermilk and kefir, rich in probiotic bacteria that help maintain the balance of the intestinal flora. Do not forget about the addition of high-quality organic eggs – all for the sake of customers’ health. Our cold soup is an option suitable for people on a gluten-free or vegetarian diet and for everyone who appreciates light, refreshing meals full of seasonal vegetables.

Soup from Soplicowo

Traditionally, soup was served completely differently than today. It was eaten with additions in the form of boiled crayfish, pieces of fish or veal – as Adam Mickiewicz himself wrote about in the national epic “Pan Tadeusz”. The first culinary references to the Lithuanian cold soup date back to the reign of the Jagiellonian dynasty (14th century). The dish has its roots in Podlasie, which at that time was largely inhabited by the Lithuanian minority.
